Welcome to “Playing the ‘Field,” a website all about Bakersfield’s fun side. Lots of people complain that there’s nothing to do in Bakersfield, but there are tons of hidden gems around town. This website is dedicated to telling the story of those hidden gems. All of the website authors are  students at California State University, Bakersfield. The website is a class project for Communications 306: Convergence Journalism. However, we have students from various majors, not just communications. Throughout the spring quarter of 2013, students are blogging, posting articles, and producing multimedia stories using photography, audio and video. It’s fast-paced, but it’s fun. Add our website to your list of fun things in Bakersfield!
