5K/1K Run for Family Festival

Running is considered as a fabulous workout to condition our body. It also serves as a perfect solution to get rid of extra pounds on our body. It not only fastening our weight loss program but also makes us to look younger as well. Bakersfield has tons of 5K run all the time and in most case those events are organized by different group for fundraising. Some of the popular fundraising group in Bakersfield are Links for Life, Color Me Rad, Bakersfield Track Club, the Fog Run, the Pie Run, Valley Achievement Center, Donate Life and etc.

Recently donate life organize an event called Run Walk for Family Festival. The purpose of the event is to raise fund and the event organizer goal is to obtain $350, 000. So far they raised $177, 870 and still have five days to reach their targeted goal. Moreover, all runners and walkers, dialysis patients, transplant recipients, organ donors, donors’ families, allied health professionals and students are also invited to come and participating the event. Another main motive of this 5K/1K run is to educate and inspire the community about organ and tissue donation while on the other hand benefiting One Legacy Foundation’s mission as well. The event will be held at Cal State Fullerton Intramural Field on Saturday April 27, 2013 and the registration deadline is on Wednesday April 24, 2013. The minimum fee for the participants is $25 and the maximum fee is $45.
