With summer slowly approaching people who live in Bakersfield have to think of fun and cool things to do but still keeping it cheap.

Well the San Joaquin Community Hospital Ice Center of Bakersfield is open everyday and is open to the public year round. They offer low prices for public skating and you can even reserve a room for your party.

The price of admission is $7.00 for kids 12 and under, $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for senior citizens. The price for skate rentals is $3.00. They even have discount passes, all of which can be found here.

Along with public skating the Ice Center even has classes where anyone can attend (after paying) and learn to ice skate. These classes are offered in steps and you can learn how to jump, spin, just to name a few techniques. The semester dates are Apr 2 to Jun 18. They even offer private lessons. Please visit here if you’re interested in ice skating lessons.

To host your own party at the SJCH Ice Center has never been easier. The Ice Center only has two prices for birthdays, $99 to $225 and to see what the prices include click here. A definite fun way to get out of the heat and have a unique way of celebrating your birthday, especially if you have a birthday in the summer.

Like I said before the Ice Center is open everyday all year round so you don’t have to go in the summer, even though that type of weather is ideal for ice-skating.
